Woom~one opened with great success on April 20, 2006. The invitation promised people, art, graphics, music and
vodka - and there was plenty of everything, and sushi to boot! (Nice one- thanks Sushi House!) Guests mingled
happily with each other (who writes this shite??), enjoying the flavoured vodka taste-testing and
aforementioned fine sushi.
The narrow gallery was crammed with work by four artists: Stephen Clover, Dean Raybould, Andrew Bryden and Matt Frost, and their artwork invited enthusiastic comment and
intense discussion. Music was provided by local dj Nic, whose funky
house set the party tone for the evening.
woom~one was reviewed on Artbash, a New Zealand art discussion site.
Click here for the thread, and see how a few comments on the colour of the woom walls ended up with swearing and name calling! It's pretty funny.
